My husband has it ,and sometimes he really suffers because it can get very loud . He worked on engines for yrs ,and was in a band for a few yrs ,I am sure those things contributed to the damage .

Tinnitus - are you afflicted?
by Glander intap a spoon on a crystal goblet - the ringing sound never stops.
sometimes birds also chirp, it is always there.. otc remedies are useless.
mine started with a workplace situation that could have been prevented with simple ear plugs, but in those days nobody knew that extreme noise over a prolonged time could cause aural nerve damage.

Any of you folks from the awesome state of Colorado??
by SweetBabyCheezits inmy wife and i are thinking of moving our family to a better place in the us....away from jw family and out of the southern bible belt.
just curious how many of you live around co and, more specifically, near fort collins?
of course, we're open to any city that is less conservative and has awesome summer weather and outdoor activities.

V , You handled yourself very well ! I think you gave this young Elder a lot to think about . Hopefully they will just let it rest ,but don't be surprised if two Elders want to visit you next .

OMG , I can not begin to explain the happiness i feel now compared to when I was a witness .
It was a process though . I felt the heavy weight lifted off of me right away just because I finally made the decision to leave, and followed through with it . However you do not leave a way of living and magically change over night . I think it took me three good years to stop having emotional swings back and forth . It also depends if JWs are still involved in your everyday life ...having to deal with them on a daily basis can seriously hinder your recovery .
The relief from the release of guilt ,fear and anxiety so common among JWs makes life truly enjoyable now . I don't have a fantastic career ,and I do feel I wasted the best years of my life. However what is left is all MINE to do with as I see fit ,and not some publishing company . I had always been one of those good little sheep that did what they were told to do until I reached a point that I did not know what I really wanted in life anymore . I was living someone elses dream not my own .
It has taken a few yrs to really discover what do I reallly think about many issues ,and what do I really like and dislike . My smile is genuine now and frequently I just smile when I am driving alone in my car ,because I am just that happy now .
Good luck with your journey . Be patient ,move forward ,try to look back less ,and less . BE HAPPY

Question about the memorial :)
by TimothyT ini have no doubt that in a few weeks when the campaign to spread memorials invites is underway that my good friend, the jw, will give me an invitation.
she has already told me that she would support me when walking in, telling me that i could sit next to her and she wouldnt give a damn what others would think that she was encouraging a disfellowshipped person.
she is very sweet, and i appreciate her thoughts.. however, i would rather not go because i believe the whole thing is done wrong anyway.

After I faded it felt strange to skip the Memorial after 44 yrs. I went to a local church instead that offers communion to everyone visitors included .....doing that seemed a hundred times more significant in honoring Jesus than any JW Memorial ever did . After that ,the Memorial just seemed ridiculous .
